Welcome to Cafe Atanacio, a charming café nestled within the stunning Bohol Tropics along Graham Avenue in Dakabayan sa Tagbilaran. This delightful café is not just a place for a meal; it’s an experience that captures the essence of Filipino and Boholano cuisine while offering breathtaking views of Tagbilaran Bay.

As you step inside, you are greeted by a warm, inviting atmosphere complemented by friendly staff eager to make your visit memorable. The café boasts an array of popular dishes that showcase authentic local flavors. From the refreshing kinilaw, a must-try ceviche that bursts with freshness, to the savory tinola pampano, each dish embodies the rich culinary tradition of the Philippines. Diners have raved about the Nachos and Lemon Chicken, perfectly balancing zest and texture for a delightful experience.

However, while the food is certainly a highlight, it’s the overall ambiance that truly captivates. Picture yourself enjoying your meal as you gaze out at the twinkling lights of the port, especially mesmerizing during sunset. The tasteful live music enhances the entire dining experience, adding a layer of warmth and joy that lifts your spirits.

Of course, some customers have noted occasional delays in food service, as Jamie Marie remarked about the one-hour wait despite the café being relatively quiet at the time. Nonetheless, the efficient and friendly staff work hard to ensure your comfort. As Adam Kaczmarek pointed out, they offer prompt service, even providing complimentary tap water upon seating, which makes you feel valued right from the start.

The overwhelming sentiment among visitors is one of satisfaction and pleasure, as highlighted by Awesome Blessings, who enjoyed both lunch and dinner on separate occasions and found the food and service to be consistently top-notch. Whether you’re craving a leisurely brunch or a cozy evening meal, Cafe Atanacio is a go-to spot for locals and travelers alike.

So, if you find yourself in Tagbilaran, make sure to indulge in the culinary magic of Cafe Atanacio where every plate is filled with love and every moment offers a view that will linger in your memory long after you've left.

The reason for the 4-star review is not because of the food but of the serving time. We ordered around 06:15pm however, our food was served after an hour of waiting. Not a lot of people were there probably 3 tables were occupied plus our table. The staff were friendly and efficient. There was a band singing songs as well. The view from the cafe is you can see the port with its lights and also the sea. The cafe itself is pleasant to look at, decorated with light posts which you don’t often see in Bohol and probably Spanish-era design and the restaurant has a lot of seating. Food-wise, everything was flavourful. We ordered the crispy pata (which was crispy and good), pan it bam-i (were the flavours burst into your mouth), fruit platter (everything was ripe and sweet - mango, papaya, orange, watermelon, banana, pineapple), there was beef as well and sisig (beef was also tender and the sisig didn’t sizzle much but was still good), we also ordered the salad. Overall, the cafe is recommended!

The staff was super friendly, they offered tap water as soon as we chose our table, english menu is available (you can choose from a buffet breakfast menu or individual dishes). Even though some of the waiters did not speak fluent English all of them offered help and support to us. The food is worth the price in my opinion. I didn't love their coffee but this is just my humble opinion. Toilets are super clean, spacious and located very close to the terrace where you enjoy your dining experience. Overall score: 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This is a go-to place for those who live to eat tasteful, authentic Filipino and Boholano cuisine. The atmosphere is so relaxing while you get to enjoy the view of the beautiful sunset of Tagbilaran Bay and the port. Fortunately, while waiting for our food, we were entertained by a couple singers. Their kinilaw is to die for. Tinolang pampano was also very good! Nachos and Lemon Chicken were so sumptuous. I cannot wait to be back there again for the Nth time.

Rarely give 5 stars.. went for lunch and the food, service and outside eating area has a nice view. Plus, plenty of areas to take a walk including 2 piers. Went a second time, food and service is top notch!

Situated in Bohol Tropics Hotel, it's a very nice place. Grounds are lovely. Very quiet daytime today but band in evening. Food was good but I'd like the beer cooler

Cafe Atanacio offers a delightful escape with its breathtaking views that can turn any meal into a special occasion. The overall ambiance is warm and inviting, making it a pleasant place to unwind. The food here is undeniably tasty, showcasing a quality that speaks to their commitment to pleasing the palate. However, it's worth noting that the service could use a bit of a boost in terms of timing, as we found ourselves waiting longer than expected for our dishes to arrive. While the staff was attentive and friendly when they did make it to our table, the lag in service did take away from the overall experience. Another consideration is the layout of the tables. They are quite closely packed, resulting in a bit of a congested feeling which can make navigation tricky, especially during busy hours. Despite these few hurdles, Cafe Atanacio certainly delivers on quality and charm. If you're willing to enjoy a leisurely meal with a stunning backdrop, this spot is a gem worth visiting. We'll be back, but I hope for a bit more space and a speedy service for our next visit!
